EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH, a European renewable energy developer, asset manager and transaction advisor, has secured the Autorizzazione Unica, or Single Authorization, for a 40 MW/320 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Sicily, Italy.

 Based on its power and energy capacity, the project will provide up to eight hours of energy storage. The system is intended to support grid stability and flexibility while facilitating the integration of renewable electricity into the power system.

Sicily has significant renewable energy potential and a growing requirement for grid-balancing infrastructure as renewable generation expands. Battery storage can help balance electricity supply and demand and reduce renewable energy curtailment by storing electricity when generation exceeds immediate requirements and making it available when needed by the grid.

 Securing the Single Authorization marks an important permitting milestone for Pacifico Energy Partners' development activities in Italy. The company said the approval resulted from work by its internal team alongside technical, legal and institutional partners involved in the permitting process.

 Following the authorization, Pacifico Energy Partners said it is open to discussions regarding collaboration opportunities, strategic partnerships or a potential acquisition of the project. The Sicily BESS forms part of the company's broader development activities in Italy as it continues expanding its renewable energy and energy storage portfolio.The company is continuing to expand its activities in Italy and other European markets, supported by a development pipeline of approximately 4,000 MW, while evaluating additional greenfield opportunities.
