Indian renewable energy company ACME Solar Holdings Limited has signed a Power Procurement Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for 300 MW/1,200 MWh of assured peak power supply under the FDRE-IX tranche. The agreement, executed through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Twenty Pvt Ltd, carries a tariff of INR 6 per unit and became effective on 6 October 2026. The company announced the agreement on 19 October 2026.
The Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project will integrate solar power generation with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technology to meet contracted electricity supply obligations. The project is designed to deliver reliable, dispatchable clean power during evening and night-time peak demand periods, when solar generation is limited or unavailable.
Under the agreement, ACME Solar will supply 4 MWh per MW of contracted capacity for any four hours daily during non-solar hours. The project must maintain a minimum monthly availability of 90%, supporting the delivery of assured electricity during peak demand periods. The company will also utilise its existing night-time connectivity to meet the project's contracted obligations.
The agreement supports the growing requirement for dispatchable renewable electricity as India's power mix incorporates increasing amounts of renewable energy. By combining solar generation with battery storage, the project aims to strengthen grid stability while supporting electricity supply during non-solar hours.
Following the signing of this PPA, ACME Solar's signed contracted portfolio under construction has reached 4,310 MW, out of a total contracted capacity of 5,380 MW under construction. The agreement adds to the company's portfolio of renewable energy projects incorporating storage and dispatchable power solutions.
ACME Solar Holdings Limited is an integrated renewable energy company with a diversified contracted portfolio of 8,370 MW across solar, BESS, FDRE, hybrid and wind solutions. According to its announcement, the company has approximately 3,123 MW of operational capacity and 4.96 GWh of BESS capacity.
The company operates in-house Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) divisions, allowing it to manage project development, construction and plant operations. ACME Solar states that this integrated approach supports time- and cost-effective project delivery while maintaining operational performance.
The SECI FDRE-IX agreement strengthens ACME Solar's contracted renewable energy portfolio and supports the integration of solar generation and battery storage for assured peak electricity supply. The project is intended to address evening and night-time electricity demand while contributing to grid stability as renewable energy deployment increases across India.
