BYD Energy Storage, a Shenzhen, China-based energy storage company, is growing its after-sales service network to ensure the long-term performance and reliability of battery energy storage systems. The company runs nine operation and maintenance centers around the world.
Each center covers about 2,500 square meters. These centers are located in China, Chile, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Japan, Poland, and the Middle East.
BYD Energy Storage plans to open service centers in South Africa and Bulgaria in 2027. This move will boost its support capacity. The centers will store parts, handle battery repairs and maintenance, manage regional spare parts distribution, recycle batteries, and train local engineers. All centers follow rules and regulations while offering technical support tailored to each region.
The company’s after-sales team includes more than 200 field engineers and over 100 research and development specialists. It follows service-level agreements. These agreements promise a response within 24 hours, an on-site visit within 48 hours, and fault resolution within seven days.
BYD Energy Storage has built a point-to-point spare parts supply network. This system allows for the delivery of components to different international markets. By combining resources with local production and repair, the company improves service access and reduces the time needed for maintenance. Its local O&M teams also train staff to build technical skills and grow expertise in the region.
He Dehong, Head of Global After-sales Service at BYD Energy Storage, said reliable after-sales support is key to keeping energy storage assets stable.
BYD Energy Storage reported that it topped global BESS shipments with more than 60 GWh in 2025. The company has completed over 650 energy storage projects so far. Its expanding O&M infrastructure supports its strategy of delivering intelligent and localized energy storage services across international markets.
