EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Two Australian CIS-backed projects totaling 870 MW have reached financial close under Atmos Renewables: the 400 MW/1,600 MWh Teebar BESS in Queensland and 470 MW Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm in Western Australia. Including Merredin BESS, Atmos has taken 970 MW of CIS-supported capacity through financial close.

Atmos Renewables, the Australian renewables business of Igneo Infrastructure Partners, has reached financial close on two major projects supported by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS). The milestone covers the 400 MW/1,600 MWh Teebar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Queensland and the 470 MW Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm in Western Australia.

Teebar BESS will be located beside Powerlink’s Teebar Creek substation in Queensland’s Fraser Coast region. The four-hour battery system will store electricity when supply is abundant and dispatch it during periods of higher demand. According to Atmos, this will support electricity system reliability and enable more effective use of renewable generation.

The Parron Maam Marang project is a 470 MW wind farm in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region. It will supply renewable electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement with Synergy, Western Australia’s largest electricity retailer.

The two projects add to Atmos’ 100 MW/400 MWh Merredin BESS, which reached financial close in June 2025. Across the three projects, Atmos has now taken 970 MW of CIS-backed capacity through financial close over the past 16 months.

Atmos Renewables CEO Nigel Baker said CIS support provides long-term revenue certainty, but projects must still secure financing, grid access, commercial arrangements and a credible delivery pathway. He said Teebar BESS and Parron Maam Marang address market requirements for firming and generation capacity as Australian electricity demand grows and ageing generation retires.

Igneo Infrastructure Partners said the milestones demonstrate the Atmos platform’s ability to develop, finance and deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.

Atmos will retain ownership of Teebar BESS and Parron Maam Marang through construction and will operate both assets following completion. The projects will join its national portfolio of more than 1.5 GW of operating and in-construction wind, solar and storage capacity.
