Executive Summary

A next-generation EV battery pack concept mockup is set for display at the 2026 Paris Motor Show by ProLogium and Rimac Technology. The collaboration focuses on pouch cell-to-pack integration, thermal management, and weight reduction. A functional battery segment is planned for CES 2027, followed by full-scale battery pack development in H2 2027 and vehicle testing in H2 2028.

ProLogium, a Taiwan-based developer and manufacturer of next-generation lithium ceramic batteries, has announced progress in its collaboration with Croatia-based Rimac Technology to develop advanced battery packs for electric vehicles. The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in September 2025 and have completed a battery pack concept mockup, which will be showcased at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The collaboration combines ProLogium's battery cell technology with Rimac Technology's expertise in automotive battery systems, focusing on a pouch cell-to-pack architecture.

The next development phase involves building a functional battery segment to evaluate thermal management, swelling management, cell integration and system-level design. The companies aim to develop battery pack solutions that improve energy density, reduce weight, and optimize space while maintaining charging performance and power output. Functional battery segments will undergo testing to assess integration approaches before development progresses to full-scale battery packs.

According to the development roadmap, the functional battery segment is scheduled for display at CES 2027, followed by a full-scale functional battery pack targeted for the second half of 2027. In-vehicle integration and public-road testing are planned for the second half of 2028. These stages will help evaluate battery performance and integration under automotive operating conditions.

Founded in 2006, ProLogium specializes in next-generation lithium ceramic battery technology and operates its Taoke Gigafactory in Taiwan. The company is also developing a battery manufacturing facility in Dunkirk, France, with an initial designed annual production capacity of 4 GWh, expected to be progressively achieved by 2030. Rimac Technology, a subsidiary of Rimac Group, develops battery systems, e-axles and electronic technologies for automotive manufacturers. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to advance next-generation battery technology toward practical electric vehicle applications.
