BTC POWER, a US-based manufacturer of AC and DC EV charging systems, is serving as a technology partner to Summit Charging as the developer expands its US charging network. Since deepening their relationship in April 2026, the companies have worked on technical specifications, Build America, Buy America (BABA) documentation and site economics for Summit's charging projects. Summit identifies potential sites and handles planning, funding, development and buildout for the EV charging infrastructure.
Summit currently holds National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grant awards for eight sites across Washington, D.C., Texas and California, representing 40 DC fast chargers and 56 charging ports. It is also developing four self-funded California sites with 42 chargers and 54 ports, while five additional sites in New York and Pennsylvania are planned with 25 chargers and 25 ports. Together, those projects form a pipeline of 17 sites, 107 chargers and 135 charging ports, and Summit has set a goal of 100 EV charging sites by 2028.
BTC POWER's 320 kW All-In-One (AiO) BABA-compliant charger is being used in Summit's network. The broader All-In-One DC fast-charging platform is available in 180 kW, 240 kW and 320 kW configurations, allowing Summit to choose charger output according to each site's power requirements, traffic patterns and economics. The companies are also increasingly incorporating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) into site designs to help manage peak power demand and reduce exposure to demand charges.
Summit evaluates potential locations using parking, traffic, accessibility, electrical capacity, nearby competition, customer demographics and utility infrastructure before selecting equipment and configurations. Bruce Lee, founder and president of Summit Charging, said businesses with suitable parking, traffic and customer demand may have an opportunity to add EV charging and create a new revenue stream. Each Summit location is planned to include at least eight DC fast charging ports supporting CCS and NACS connectors, along with BESS, customer amenities and restrooms.
BTC POWER reports a 98% uptime rate based on operational data from deployed systems. The company has a 26-year operational history and its product range includes Level 2 AC chargers and DC fast chargers.
