China-based energy storage and power-electronics manufacturer SINEXCEL commissioned a 1.5 MW / 3 MWh battery energy storage system in Ukraine in January 2026. The project marks the company’s first grid-connected deployment in the Ukrainian power system, supporting frequency regulation, voltage stability, and local grid resilience in a constrained operating environment.

SINEXCEL, a China-based energy storage and power-electronics manufacturer, has commissioned its first 1.5 MW / 3 MWh battery energy storage application in Ukraine in January 2026.the project represents the company’s initial grid-connected energy storage deployment within the Ukrainian power system and operates in a constrained grid environment.  

The battery energy storage system supports local electricity network operations where supply continuity and rapid grid response are required. The project is equipped with SINEXCEL’s 160 kW power conversion system (PCS), which delivers millisecond-level response capability. This allows the battery system to perform precise grid regulation, supporting frequency control and enhancing overall system flexibility. The PCS also enables efficient bidirectional energy flow, allowing the system to charge and discharge in response to real-time grid requirements. 

In addition, the system provides dynamic reactive power compensation to support voltage stability and power quality for residential and commercial loads. According to the project details, the installation is capable of supplying the daily electricity demand of around 300 households during periods of grid instability. The system also features a modular design with a high protection rating, enabling extended operation and easier maintenance. Its modular configuration also allows capacity to be expanded as grid requirements and demand evolves. 

The commissioning in Ukraine adds to SINEXCEL’s global portfolio of energy storage projects. The company has delivered more than 15 GW / 40 GWh of energy storage capacity worldwide, with over 5,000 projects deployed across more than 40 countries and regions. The project reflects the application of SINEXCEL’s standardized energy storage systems across different grid environments.
