Italy-based Redelfi SpA, the parent company of the Redelfi Group with its operational headquarters in Genoa, has signed a framework agreement with Hyperstrong International Italy Srl to supply batteries for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Italy. The agreement was announced during Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich. Hyperstrong International Italy is controlled by China's Beijing HyperStrong Technology Co., Ltd., a global provider of energy storage technologies and battery solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hyperstrong International Italy S.r.l.—which is controlled by the Chinese giant Beijing HyperStrong Technology Co., Ltd., a leading global operator in energy storage technologies—will submit a commercial proposal to supply battery systems with a combined capacity of 1 GW. The batteries will be integrated into utility-scale BESS projects within Redelfi's development pipeline, which are scheduled to be offered to strategic investors through subsequent disposal processes..
The partnership aligns with Redelfi's core upstream strategy of aligning with tier-1 international industrial operators before initiating project sales. By securing advanced technology partners at an early stage, the developer aims to optimize project implementation costs, improve commercial competitiveness and maximize the overall asset value of its BESS portfolio for prospective buyers.
Hyperstrong's technological solution is based on a modular, high-efficiency battery platform engineered to reduce land consumption while maintaining robust energy storage performance. This modular design improves project footprint efficiency and supports flexible deployment across multiple utility-scale installations.
Integrating established battery suppliers into its project pipeline strengthens both the technical and commercial profile of Redelfi's portfolio. This strategy provides greater long-term confidence to future buyers by combining ready-to-deploy storage projects with proven battery technology and highly competitive commercial terms.
Sabina Pinto, Managing Director of Redelfi S.p.A., emphasized that the agreement highlights the company's ability to attract globally recognized industrial partners while steadily increasing the market value of its BESS pipeline. She also mentioned that access to advanced technology and optimized commercial terms directly boost the appeal of the projects during the competitive sales process.
Stefano Alberici, Vice President of Technology for EMEA at Hyperstrong International Italy, stated that the collaboration is a milestone of great pride for the company and supports the broader adoption of battery energy storage technologies across the country. He highlighted that the partnership will actively help strengthen the stability and flexibility of the Italian electricity grid as the country's energy storage capacity grows.
This transaction comes during a period of robust financial performance for Redelfi. In the 2025 financial year, the Industrial Group achieved a Production Value of EURO 27 million, an EBITDA of Euro 15 million, and a Net Result of Euro 5.2 million, backed by a Net Worth of Euro 45 million.
The agreement reflects an increasing industry trend of upstream collaboration between project developers and specialized battery technology providers as Europe's utility-scale energy storage market scales up. Securing key technology partnerships well before project commercialization is becoming a vital strategy for developers looking to reduce execution risks, improve financing prospects, and accelerate the deployment of large-scale battery storage infrastructure.
