EcoFlow, a home energy storage manufacturer headquartered in Shenzhen with operational bases in Seattle, Düsseldorf, Irvine, Tokyo, and Birmingham, opened its IFA 2026 stand, where it showed its home battery systems alongside two newly launched portable power stations. Visitors can see OCEAN 2, the company's three-phase solar and storage system for homes, alongside the STREAM home battery series and two portable power stations.
OCEAN 2 combines solar generation, battery storage, whole-home backup and energy management in one system. It comes in five power classes, running from 6 kW up to 15 kW, and pulls in solar through three independent MPP trackers rated for up to 24 kW of PV input. A start voltage of 120 V allows generation to begin earlier on roofs with awkward layouts. Whole-home backup power is rated at 63 A, with switchover handled internally and no separate backup box required.
Storage capacity scales through battery modules of 5 kWh and 8 kWh, with support for up to twelve modules per inverter. Both module sizes are rated for a discharge rate of up to 0.8C under laboratory conditions. The system carries an IP66 rating and includes ten layers of battery safety protection. Installers set up the system through the EcoFlow Pro App, a process the company says takes around three minutes.
Software runs through EcoFlow OASIS 3.0, which tracks a household's energy use and determines when to store power, draw from the battery, or pull from the grid. The platform connects with more than 1,000 energy providers across Europe and uses solar forecasting that EcoFlow states reaches up to 90 per cent accuracy. Cloud API and Modbus support are available for third-party integration. OCEAN 2 stays compatible with EcoFlow's previous generation, letting existing owners add capacity rather than replace their systems.
The STREAM home battery series was launched across Europe in June 2026. STREAM AC 5000 is built to retrofit storage onto solar installations already in place, sized to handle the higher feed-in power those systems produce. Installation requires a qualified electrical contractor. From October, the series adds Local Mode, which allows a STREAM system to continue running and being controlled through the app if the internet connection drops, without any separate setup.
Two portable products are included in the new lineup. RIVER Gen4 comes in two sizes, 256 Wh and 512 Wh, both built on a new compact architecture that EcoFlow says reduces size and weight compared with its previous RIVER models. PowerRock 4000 is designed for construction sites, events and other locations without mains power, delivering 4 kW continuously and up to 7.2 kW for short bursts from a 3 kWh battery. It also includes a built-in residual current device for site safety.
