Agile Energy has secured strategic equity investment from Five V Capital and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) to expand its commercial and industrial renewable energy portfolio. The funding supports more than 200 MW of rooftop and onsite solar and battery projects delivered through long-term PPAs. The 50 MW of PPA-based solar and battery systems has already deployed, the investment accelerates Agile Energy’s national growth and strengthens its integrated EPC, asset-management and battery capabilities across Australia’s C&I sectors.
PROJECT SNAPSHOT
Australia-based commercial and industrial renewable-energy platform, Agile Energy, secured a strategic equity investment from Five V Capital, a Sydney-based private equity and venture capital firm and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), the federal government’s green bank. The investment enables it to deliver over 200 MW of solar and battery capacity for commercial and industrial customers under long-term Power Purchase Agreements.
Agile Energy has previously deployed more than 50 MW of PPA-based solar and battery systems across multiple commercial and industrial sectors in Australia. The new investment supports an expanded rollout into additional industries, giving businesses access to long-term onsite power solutions without upfront capital costs.
Five V Capital manages about A$3.3 billion (3.3 billion AUD) in assets across technology, sustainability and other growth sectors. The firm has a record of working with founders and management teams to expand national-scale businesses. The CEFC manages more than A$33 billion (33 billion AUD) and invests in supporting decarbonization initiatives across energy, transport, property and infrastructure while encouraging private sector participation.
Agile Energy positions as a fully integrated C&I renewable platform in Australia, combining long-term PPAs, in-house EPC and asset management and battery integration supported by digital lifecycle monitoring. The investment increases the company’s capacity to expand its distributed energy portfolio across commercial and industrial sectors.
Jack Kapoor, CEO of Agile Energy, said the investment enhances the company’s ability to expand rooftop and onsite solar and battery projects for Australian businesses, leveraging Five V Capital and the CEFC’s support as it scales beyond 200 MW.
Patrick Rodden, Managing Director at Five V Capital, stated that Agile Energy’s operational model is structured for national expansion and that the firm’s investment adds institutional capital to support the company’s commercial and industrial portfolio.
Malcolm Thornton, CEFC Head of Growth Capital, said the CEFC investment aims to increase access to rooftop solar and battery options for commercial and industrial users, providing additional pathways for businesses to manage energy costs and reduce operational emissions.
