EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Swedish energy company Tavion secured €34 million in an oversubscribed financing round alongside €16 million in debt financing. The €50 million in new funding will support construction of three battery parks in Poland with 69 MW combined capacity, with the first two planned to break ground in September 2026.

Tavion, a Swedish energy company focused on developing, owning and operating battery parks across Europe, has raised €50 million (~ $58 million) in new funding to advance the construction of its first battery parks in Poland. The funding comprises €34 million (~$39.47 million) from an oversubscribed financing round and €16 million in debt financing.

The financing round was led by Leitmotif and Oberon Capital, with participation from existing investors BackingMinds and Course Corrected VC. Tavion said the funding accelerates its development plan by one quarter as the company enters the construction phase.

The capital will allow Tavion to complete construction of three battery parks in Poland with a combined capacity of 69 MW. The first two parks are planned to break ground in September 2026. The three projects are financed partly through equity and the newly secured €16 million (~ $18.57 million) debt facility.

The three battery parks form part of Tavion's 184 MW portfolio at or close to ready-to-build stage in Poland. Across the portfolio, land, grid connection and building permitting are secured or in the final phase. Tavion also has a wider project pipeline of 1.7 GW in Poland. The company said the full build-out will require additional debt and equity financing.

Tavion identified Poland as an attractive energy storage market, citing a rapidly rising share of renewables, coal phase-out, high price volatility and new support schemes as factors driving demand for storage. The company said few grid-connected batteries are currently in operation in the country. Tavion is also preparing its next market entries in parallel with the Polish build-out.

Since its launch in April, Tavion has grown to more than 20 employees across Sweden and Poland. The company is led by CEO Emad Zand, who previously served as CEO of Northvolt's battery systems division. Katarzyna Suchcicka heads Tavion's Polish business and previously built and led OX2's operations in the country.

Tavion said it has announced €67 million (77.78 million) in total funding over the past two quarters. This includes the €33.5 million equity financing referenced in the release's final paragraph, the €16 million debt facility, the €7 million equity round announced in late April and €10 million in development financing. Capcora acted as financial advisor on the debt financing, while Nirou advised on the equity round.
