Arming itself with a 500 MW order book built during the first half of 2026, SINEXCEL has introduced its StellaON 1250K/1575K power conversion system (PCS) at Intersolar Europe 2026, targeting utility-scale battery energy storage deployments across Europe. Developed with Infineon's EconoDUAL™3 power modules, the new PCS is designed to improve environmental resilience, grid support capabilities, and long-term operational efficiency for large-scale energy storage projects.
The StellaON platform is built around what SINEXCEL describes as an "Omni-Adaptability" concept, enabling reliable operation under harsh environmental conditions, demanding utility applications, and evolving European grid requirements. The PCS delivers continuous full-power operation at ambient temperatures of up to 55°C, reducing the need for power derating and helping developers lower system oversizing costs. The unit also incorporates an IP65-rated enclosure and C5 anti-corrosion protection, allowing deployment in challenging outdoor environments while maintaining operating noise levels as low as 65 dB for urban installations.
To support modern transmission and distribution networks, StellaON includes grid-forming functionality with PQ, VF, VSG, and SVG operating modes. The system supports 1.5-times overload capability for 60 seconds, black-start functionality, and the parallel operation of up to four AC/DC units to improve system scalability, redundancy, and grid resilience. The solution is designed to meet Europe's evolving NC RfG 2.0 grid requirements and currently complies with grid codes in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Romania. Certification activities for Spain and the United States are ongoing.
SINEXCEL states that the PCS achieves a maximum full-load efficiency of 98.5% while improving round-trip efficiency by 0.6%, contributing to lower levelized cost of storage (LCOS). The modular architecture supports storage durations ranging from one to eight hours and can be configured from compact 20-foot, 2.5 MW medium-voltage stations to 40-foot, 12.5 MW systems.
The company has also focused on reducing operating and maintenance requirements. A self-cleaning design is expected to lower lifetime operating expenditure by approximately 15%, while the system offers a mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeding 300,000 hours and an estimated 99% operational uptime. Key components can be replaced within one hour, while a complete PCS replacement can be completed in less than two hours.
Following successful grid connection in Vietnam earlier this year, SINEXCEL reported that StellaON has secured more than 500 MW of orders during the first half of 2026. More than 15 projects are currently under deployment across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa.
