PROJECT SNAPSHOT

Austria-based independent power producer (IPP), Enery, has secured more than €250 million in long-term portfolio project financing to support the development and operation of a cross-border renewable energy portfolio in Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Slovenia.

The financing was provided by Československá obchodní banka, a. s. (ČSOB) as sole lender, with United Bulgarian Bank AD and Československá obchodná banka, a.s. Slovakia participating as guarantors.

Enery already has a BESS portfolio in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) and this latest financing has a period of 22 years. The structure allows assets at different stages of operation and construction to be financed under one consolidated framework.

According to the company, the financing enables the company to fast track the delivery of 100 MW / 220 MWh of BESS capacity co-located with 300 MW of solar PV capacity across four energy markets.

Enery operates a renewable energy portfolio, which includes 566 MW of installed capacity and 213 MW under construction, with annual generation of approximately 766 GWh. The company maintains a development pipeline of nearly 10 GW across 10 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to owning and operating renewable assets, Enery manages close to 700 MWh of third-party BESS capacity and provides route-to-market services for utility-scale generation and storage, including power purchase agreements and flexibility mechanisms.

Richard König, CEO, and Lukas Nemec, COO, said the €250 million long-term portfolio financing supports delivery of 300 MW solar PV and 100 MW / 220 MWh BESS across four energy markets.

Teodor Filip, VP Financing at Enery, said the long-term financing supports scaling solar generation and battery storage assets across Central and Eastern Europe.
