Stockholm-based company, Ingrid and Energiequelle GmbH, a renewables developer, operator and service provider, , have signed a co-development agreement to deliver 200 MW of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems across Germany.
As part of the partnership, Energiequelle manages project development. Ingrid provides financing for the projects and handles operations once the systems are commissioned. It also manages asset optimization through its proprietary trading platform. The BESS portfolio will be deployed in distribution grids across Germany in areas with the highest flexibility demand. Most of the developments are expected to reach construction-ready status in 2026.
Project Scope
According to Ingrid, the agreement supports its ongoing expansion across Germany, France and Spain. The company reported that more than 450 MW (650 MWh) of battery storage is operating or under development in the Nordics and over €300 million ($330 million) have been raised. Its portfolio includes Finland’s 70 MW (140 MWh) facility and optimization services for assets across multiple European markets. The company stated that the agreement supports its ongoing expansion across Germany, France and Spain.
The company also develops photovoltaic and battery storage solutions for industrial clients and operates in Europe and South Africa. Since 1997, Energiequelle has delivered about 2,000 MW of grid infrastructure and connected more than 1,700 MW of wind energy
CEO of Ingrid, Axel Holmberg, said the partnership marks an expansion of the company’s activities in Germany, adding that Ingrid targets the optimization of more than 1 GW of flexible assets in the country by 2030.
Founder and Managing Director of Energiequelle, Michael Raschemann, said the partnership aligns the company’s development activities with Ingrid’s experience in large-scale energy storage and supports the delivery of future grid-related projects.
