HiTHIUM, a China-based energy storage solutions provider, introduced three new storage products at Shanghai New Energy Industry Association Conference (SNEC) 2026. The lineup features the ∞Power 6.9 MWh system, configured for eight-hour discharge runtimes. The company also launched its ∞Cell 650 Ah battery alongside an ∞Power 10+ MWh energy storage configuration.

Battery storage discharge times are expanding across the sector. While 2- to 4-hour platforms remain the baseline, power companies and grid operators are shifting toward 4- to 8-hour systems to manage the variable generation profiles of wind and solar assets.

At the exhibition, HiTHIUM presented its long-duration product roadmap. The manufacturer noted that expanding renewable grid integration, weather-driven disruptions and grid reliability demands are driving the market interest in extended-use battery storage.

The newly launched ∞Power 6.9 MWh system is built around a 1300 Ah battery cell developed for Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) applications. The system provides more than 6.9 MWh of storage capacity and discharges continuously for up to eight hours within a standard 20-foot container. Designed for a service life of up to 25 years, the platform supports side-by-side and back-to-back layout arrangements to optimize land footprint and lower project construction expenses.

According to HiTHIUM, the platform design emphasizes safety and material management. The platform uses low-global-warming-potential coolant and includes measures to help prevent leaks. The system also incorporates recyclable materials and multiple layers of protection covering battery cells, container systems and battery management functions.

Alongside the long-duration platform, HiTHIUM introduced its new ∞Cell 650 Ah large-capacity battery and the ∞Power 10+ MWh energy storage solution. The products aim to increase system-level energy density and integration efficiency across utility-scale, commercial and industrial storage projects.

The launch expands HiTHIUM’s broader hardware portfolio, which spans from 162 Ah sodium-ion technologies to 1300 Ah lithium-ion cells, covering utility, commercial, industrial and residential configurations from one to eight hours.

HiTHIUM and Vietnam-based DSS Solar signed a three-year strategic agreement at SNEC 2026 to support 1 GWh of energy storage deployment in Vietnam. The partnership targets the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. The arrangement pairs HiTHIUM's hardware supply with DSS Solar's local project development pipeline.

HiTHIUM stated that the agreement aligns with its regional growth plans amid expanding storage deployment across Southeast Asia. Rising green energy installations and grid stability demands are driving this regional shift. In response, the manufacturer is sustaining parallel development tracks for sodium-ion and lithium-ion systems while anchoring its future pipeline around extended-use storage products.
