MoU Overview and Supply Plan
Trina Storage, the China-based energy storage division of Trinasolar, signed an MoU with US-headquartered Pacific Green Energy Group in November 2025. Under the agreement, the companies plan to supply up to 5 GWh of battery energy storage systems from 2026 to 2028.
Project Deployment and Regional Activities
The MoU sets out a multi-year plan to roll out grid-scale battery systems across Australia, making it one of the region’s largest storage collaborations. Under the MoU, Trina Storage provides utility-grade battery platforms and Pacific Green manages development and project delivery activities across multiple Australian sites and international markets.
The partnership aligns with Trinasolar’s existing activities in Australia, including a 1.5 GW Vertex N module supply agreement with Marubeni Australia and the Limestone Coast North Energy Park project in South Australia. Pacific Green’s Limestone Coast North project has an enterprise value of AUD $460 million with a planned capacity of 250 MW/500 MWh. These initiatives reflect the companies’ continued participation in large-scale solar and storage projects across the Asia-Pacific region.
Pacific Green manages a global storage pipeline of 11 GWh, including 7 GWh in Australia and 4 GWh in Europe.
Executive Statements on the Partnership
Helena Li, President of Trinasolar, said the MoU sets a 5 GWh supply plan between Trina Storage and Pacific Green to support the delivery of large-scale battery storage projects.
Scott Poulter, CEO of Pacific Green, noted that the partnership is structured to help progress the company’s global project pipeline.
