Sungrow signs 1 GWh BESS framework with GOLDBECK SOLAR

Executive summary

Sungrow, a China-based manufacturer of PV inverters and energy storage systems, has signed a framework agreement with GOLDBECK SOLAR covering a 1 GWh BESS pipeline alongside 722 MW of utility PV projects in Poland. The formal signing took place during Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich at the end of June. The PV framework is linked to projects in Dobrowo, Kikowo and Sidlowo, where Sungrow will supply its 1+X utility-scale inverter and SG6600UD-MV and SG8800UD-MV medium-voltage solutions.

The companies described the arrangement as a move from individual project cooperation toward a longer-term framework covering PV and storage. Moritz Rolf, Vice President Sungrow Europe for DACH, Nordics, Benelux and Turkey, said the agreement is part of that transition and referred to Sungrow's investment in a factory in Poland. GOLDBECK SOLAR has also said its work with Sungrow is expanding from utility-scale PV into BESS.

Daulet Baitumenov, Team Lead Category Manager BESS at GOLDBECK SOLAR, linked the agreement to renewable energy systems combining PV and storage. At the end of 2025, renewable sources accounted for more than half of Poland's installed power capacity, while PV had reached nearly 25 GW. Sungrow linked the storage framework to the next stage of Poland's renewable energy development.

Sungrow states that it has more than 29 years of experience and had installed 1 TW of power electronic converters worldwide as of December 2025. It also reports a network of 520 service outlets. GOLDBECK SOLAR was founded in 2001 and is part of the GOLDBECK SOLAR Group, which was established in 2018. The group employs more than 550 people in 12 countries and has built more than 5 GW of solar power plants across 20 countries.
