Executive Summary

Agrosuper's San Vicente plant is supplied with a 6.9 MW/14.9 MWh battery energy storage system by CNTE. Reducing peak electricity demand, shifting energy use, lowering power costs, and providing backup support during grid disturbances or outages are key goals. Improved power reliability and operational flexibility are achieved by combining battery storage, power conversion, and intelligent energy management. CNTE enhances its industrial energy storage portfolio in Latin America, by increasing its role of BESS in Chile.

CNTE provides 6.9 MW/14.9 MWh of energy storage support for the food-processing sector, Agrosuper's San Vicente plant, Chile. The system helps support peak reduction and demand shifting by storing electricity during low demand and distributing it during high power consumption. This helps Agrosuper's San Vicente Plant minimize power utility costs, reduce peak demand costs, and also stabilize grid pressure.

The food-processing industry relies on continuous electricity for production equipment, refrigeration, and cold-chain operations. This project will enhance the backup power support for critical loads. CNTE’s integrated battery storage system helps improve the power supply reliability of the unit and reduce the operational risks due to grid disturbances or unplanned outages.

The project is rated with a power capacity of 6.9 MW and a storage capacity of 14.9 MWh, which offers a continuous power supply to the unit during unintentional supply disturbances. CNTE enhances charging and discharging electricity according to site load conditions and operational requirements by integrating battery equipment, power conversion, and intelligent energy management along with its energy storage solution.

The C&S sector in Chile shows progressive growth in adopting battery energy storage as a result. BESS technology has become inevitable for energy-intensive businesses to manage electricity costs, improve power quality, and strengthen operational adaptability. This is beyond supporting renewable energy integration.

CNTE is strengthening its portfolio of industrial energy storage projects in Latin America. Agrosuper San Vicente project reflects the rising demand for BESS across mining, food processing, manufacturing, and other electricity-intensive industries seeking more flexible and reliable energy solutions.
