Anza Power, an Australian renewable energy developer, has signed a battery storage tolling agreement with Amazon for the 50 MW / 200 MWh Bairnsdale BESS in East Gippsland, Victoria. Anza Power said it was Amazon’s first standalone battery storage tolling agreement.
The Bairnsdale agreement is Anza Power’s seventh energy agreement since the start of 2026. It follows five solar-plus-battery storage projects secured with Amazon across Victoria and New South Wales.
The five projects are Laceby, Stanbridge, Indigo, Barnawartha and Mooroopna. Bairnsdale differs from these projects as the agreement covers a standalone battery storage system.
Anza Power also secured its first New Zealand offtake with Fonterra for the Somerton Solar Farm in June 2026. The Bairnsdale agreement followed that transaction.
According to Anza Power, these agreements provide dispatchable energy to the grid and use integrated battery storage to support grid reliability. The company said it is continuing its activity across Australia and New Zealand.
