SolarMax Technology Inc., a California–based integrated solar and energy storage company, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SolarMax Renewable Energy Provider, Inc., has entered into an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement with Navboot Holdco, LLC for a 600 MWh utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The EPC contract is expected to generate approximately $258.1 million in revenue for SolarMax and represents one of the company’s largest single battery energy storage awards.
Under the agreement, SolarMax is responsible for the full scope of EPC services for the project. This includes system design and detailed engineering, procurement of major equipment, on-site installation and construction, as well as testing, startup, and final commissioning. The contract includes delivery of high-voltage interconnection infrastructure required to connect the facility to the local grid. The project will operate as a standalone battery energy storage project in Corpus Christi, Texas, enabling electricity dispatch during periods of higher grid demand.
David Hsu, CEO of SolarMax, said the EPC award marked a milestone for the company and the EPC award reflects the expansion of its utility-scale portfolio in Texas, where the company has secured multiple large-scale battery storage contracts within the past year, increasing its contracted backlog and EPC activity.
