The companies have signed a three-year Master Framework Agreement (MFA) under which Berde will procure 200 MW of solar inverters and 500 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for projects in both Southeast Asian markets. The agreement is designed to strengthen Berde Renewables' ability to deliver integrated solar and energy storage solutions while providing customers with access to advanced technologies and a more resilient regional supply chain. The partnership combines Sungrow's solar inverters, battery storage systems, EV charging solutions and smart energy technologies with Solar Hive's regional distribution capabilities, logistics network, spare parts inventory, technical support and after-sales services. According to Berde Renewables, the long-term procurement framework will enable projects to move more quickly from contract signing to commissioning by ensuring priority access to Sungrow's factory-new equipment. The arrangement is expected to support businesses seeking reliable, cost-effective clean energy solutions while reducing delays associated with equipment sourcing. The 500 MWh battery storage commitment represents expansion of Berde's energy storage portfolio and supports the growing demand for flexible electricity infrastructure, particularly in the Philippines. Battery energy storage systems can help customers optimize electricity consumption by storing excess solar generation for use during periods of higher demand, reducing reliance on grid electricity during peak hours and supporting daytime-to-evening load shifting. The systems can also provide services that improve overall grid stability as renewable energy penetration increases. Beyond equipment procurement, the partnership includes collaboration on technical training and certification programmes, joint market development initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities and the evaluation of co-investment and vendor financing opportunities for selected renewable energy projects. These initiatives are intended to strengthen local technical capabilities while supporting the wider deployment of solar and battery storage technologies across Southeast Asia. Projects are implemented by Berde Renewables using the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) approach where the company funds, constructs, owns, and operates the customers’ solar energy facilities throughout the contract period. The ownership of the facilities will be transferred to the customer at the end of the contract. This allows companies to utilize renewable energy without spending considerable capital in the process. This collaboration further enhances the growth plans of Berde Renewables in Southeast Asia by integrating long-term equipment supply, state-of-the-art energy technology, and technical assistance in the region. The integration of large-scale solar energy and battery storage in the contract is expected to enable business customers to gain energy security, save on electricity costs, and make their energy system cleaner.
