Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy Co., Ltd., an integrated energy storage equipment provider invested in by CATL, has supplied its STAR T containerised system for Modlany Energy Park in northern Czech Republic.
The completed project combines a 42.7 MW photovoltaic plant with a 37.95 MW/41.7 MWh BESS. CNTE described it as the Czech Republic’s largest completed battery storage project.
The installation comprises 11 STAR T-285 liquid-cooled containers, each rated at 3.45 MW/3.793 MWh. The system is connected to a major high-voltage substation and is designed to provide fast-response frequency regulation and grid balancing services.
The BESS can charge or discharge in response to grid requirements. It is intended to balance variations in photovoltaic generation and electricity demand while storing surplus solar electricity for later release.
Located on a former mining spoil site, Modlany Energy Park integrates solar generation, storage and intelligent energy management. The development repurposes previously unused industrial land for renewable electricity infrastructure.
STAR T supports 1P charging and discharging and one- to four-hour system configurations. Its modular structure allows configurations to be adjusted for different capacities and operating requirements.
The containers incorporate intelligent liquid cooling, four-level fire protection, precise fire alarm positioning and continuous DC insulation monitoring. An integrated energy management system and cloud platform support real-time monitoring, intelligent control and lifecycle asset management.
CNTE specialises in integrated storage systems for utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and residential applications. Its operations include research and development, manufacturing, global sales and local services.
