Executive Summary

R.Power Renewables has expanded its BESS portfolio under construction across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to more than 800 MW/2,750 MWh after signing EPC contracts for two utility-scale projects in Poland. The projects have a combined capacity of 550 MW/2,200 MWh and are expected to become operational around the turn of 2027/2028. 

The projects include the Dzięgielewo BESS, with a capacity of 300 MW/1,200 MWh, and the Gdańsk BESS with a capacity of 250 MW/1,000 MWh. R.Power appointed ONDE to deliver the Dzięgielewo project and ESIX Sp. z o.o. to deliver the Gdańsk project. 

According to R.Power, the two developments are its largest and longest-duration BESS projects to enter construction. Together, they are approximately twice the capacity and duration of the Jedwabno and Scorniçești projects, which entered construction earlier in 2026. 

Both projects are expected to become operational around the turn of 2027/2028. Their construction will take R.Power's BESS portfolio under construction across CEE to more than 800 MW/2,750 MWh. 

The company said the Dzięgielewo and Gdańsk projects follow the project financing and commercialisation achieved for the Jedwabno and Scorniçești projects.

R.Power Renewables has a 32 GW development pipeline, with 1.4 GW operating or under construction and 12.4 GW of grid-secured capacity across six markets. R.Power's investors include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Amber Infrastructure/3SIIF funds.
