Executive summary

SolarEdge Technologies India, the Indian arm of the Israel-based maker of solar inverters and storage systems, has brought its Home Battery 400V to REI Expo 2026 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, India. According to the company's European datasheet, the battery provides 9.7 kWh of usable energy and 5 kW of continuous output, and it has been designed to work with the company's Home Hub inverters, so that a household can keep its daytime solar output for the evening or for a power cut.

  • Company: SolarEdge Technologies India

  • Product: Home Battery 400V

  • Energy: 9.7 kWh usable

  • Power: 5 kW continuous

  • Backup peak: 7.5 kW for 10 seconds

  • Efficiency: Up to 94.5%

  • Stacking: Up to 3 per inverter

SolarEdge Technologies India exhibited at REI Expo 2026 in Hall 16, at Booth A102, at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Its stand had been divided into a residential section and a commercial section, and the residential wall, which carried the heading "Optimized Solution for Every Roof", had been given to the products that a home requires for solar storage: the S-Series power optimiser, the Home Hub inverters, the mySolarEdge app and the company's home batteries.

The principal exhibit on that wall was the Home Battery 400V, which stood on the floor beneath a label for the low-voltage Home Battery 48V. According to the company's European datasheet, the 400V model is a DC-coupled battery, so that it is charged directly from the solar side of the inverter. It provides 9.7 kWh of usable energy at a full depth of discharge, delivers 5 kW continuously and can supply 7.5 kW for 10 seconds when it is running as backup. Its round-trip efficiency has been given as up to 94.5%, and it operates between 350 V and 450 V DC.

Up to three batteries can be connected to a single inverter, which raises the usable storage of one system to about 29 kWh, and each unit is covered by a 10-year warranty. The enclosure has been rated IP55, so that the battery can be mounted indoors or outdoors, either on a wall or on the floor, and it is cooled by natural convection rather than by fans. The unit weighs 119 kg, can be operated between -10°C and 50°C, communicates with the inverter without wires and has been certified to IEC 62619, UN38.3 and UL9540A.

The battery is managed by the Home Hub inverters that hung above it, in single-phase and three-phase versions, which control both the solar array and the battery and are monitored through the mySolarEdge app. On the commercial side of the stand, the company displayed its S1200 and S1000 power optimisers, three-phase inverters with Synergy technology of up to 100 kW for C&I rooftops, and a ONE controller with an energy meter for Modbus connection.
