EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Designed for diesel generator-based power systems, Belding India’s Hybrid BESS is intended to reduce diesel consumption by 40-80%, depending on the load profile. The India-developed system provides instant backup during generator start-up, manages sudden load spikes and supports solar power integration.

  • Company: Belding India

  • Location: Pune, India

  • Project: Hybrid Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

  • Application: Diesel Generator-Based Power Systems

Belding India, an India-based engineering and technology company, has introduced an India-developed Hybrid Battery Energy Storage System for diesel generator-based power systems. The product was unveiled at India Energy Storage Week 2026 by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy.

The company said the Hybrid BESS can reduce diesel consumption by 40-80%, depending on the connected load profile. It provides instant battery backup while a generator starts and allows the battery to respond to sudden load spikes during peak load management.

The system also supports the integration of renewable energy sources, including solar power. Belding India said its operation can reduce generator runtime and maintenance requirements while improving voltage and frequency regulation.

The company further stated that reduced generator use can lower carbon dioxide emissions and noise levels. Target applications include data centres, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, airports, telecom towers, mining operations, oil and gas sites, defence installations, construction projects and remote industrial locations.

Umesh Kumar Sahay, Chairman of Belding India, said the Hybrid BESS was designed to reduce diesel dependency while maintaining uninterrupted power for critical operations.
