Sungrow Deutschland GmbH and be.storaged GmbH have signed a framework agreement to expand their cooperation on large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany. Announced on 17 September 2026, the agreement establishes a two-year framework under which the companies aim to jointly deliver a planned pipeline of up to 1.6 GWh of storage capacity.

The agreement extends their existing partnership and establishes principles for closer cooperation across project planning, development and implementation. Both companies intend to introduce standardised processes, coordinated technical solutions and early joint planning to accelerate project execution. These measures are designed to reduce coordination requirements and shorten feedback loops throughout project development.

Under the partnership, be.storaged will contribute its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) expertise. Its responsibilities cover project development, planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational support. Sungrow will provide its battery energy storage technology, power electronics and manufacturing expertise, alongside related service solutions.

The companies expect their combined capabilities to support greater project standardisation and closer technical coordination from the earliest development stages. The framework also establishes structured feedback loops between project development, plant operation and technology development, allowing operational experience to inform future storage solutions.

Technology integration forms another component of the agreement. Sungrow plans to increasingly deploy its new PowerTitan 3.0 large-scale battery storage system in future projects. The system integrates a 1.78 MW power conversion system (PCS) with 7.14 MWh of battery capacity in a 20-foot container and can scale up to 28.5 MWh.

The framework provides an organisational and technical structure for incorporating technological developments into joint projects at an early stage.

Dr Magnus Pielke, Managing Director of be.storaged, said the agreement would help the companies standardise gigawatt-hour-scale BESS projects and bring them to market faster. He also highlighted opportunities to use operational insights to improve future storage solutions, industrialise the management of growing storage fleets and develop additional business opportunities across the battery storage value chain.

Moritz Rolf, Vice President and Regional Manager DACH, Benelux, Nordics and Turkey at Sungrow Europe, said the agreement builds on the companies' established cooperation and shared understanding of Germany's energy storage requirements.

Corinna Petznik, Supplier Management at be.storaged, said standardised technical solutions, defined processes and early coordination would reduce project coordination efforts and improve delivery efficiency.

The planned pipeline of up to 1.6 GWh is intended to support renewable energy integration and provide additional flexibility to Germany's electricity system. The projects are expected to help balance electricity generation and consumption while supporting a secure and efficient energy supply.
