A 220 MWh BESS portfolio in Germany, built on the Jinko Tera liquid-cooled system, combines green and grey storage with planned PV capacity under a hybrid PPA strategy. Jinko ESS, the storage subsidiary of JinkoSolar, says that the mix is meant to make renewable output more flexible and predictable.

Jinko ESS, a China-based energy storage company and subsidiary of JinkoSolar, is advancing a 220 MWh BESS portfolio in Germany. The portfolio pairs green and grey BESS with planned PV capacity and is designed to support a hybrid PPA strategy.
Two kinds of storage sit inside it. The green BESS capacity is tied directly to renewable generation, while the grey BESS capacity can offer broader system and market flexibility. Coupling both with the planned PV portfolio under one hybrid PPA framework brings generation, storage and energy delivery into a single structure. The point of that structure is a steadier supply. By shifting energy across time, balancing swings in PV output and responding to market signals, the portfolio is meant to give renewable generation a more flexible and predictable profile. That is intended to strengthen its commercial value while supporting grid stability.
The portfolio is built on the Jinko Tera liquid-cooled energy storage system, rated at 5.01 MWh. Its 3x grid-forming capability for 10 seconds is aimed at weak-grid and high-dynamic-power conditions, and it adds black-start and fast frequency regulation. Jinko ESS reports a tested round-trip efficiency of 94.1% and a 20-year design life, which it says lowers the levelized cost of energy over the full lifecycle.
"We are very proud to support this important 220MWh portfolio in Germany," said Roberto Murgioni, General Manager of Jinko ESS Europe. "This is a great example of what can be achieved through close collaboration, and we are pleased to contribute our technology, experience and enduring support."
The companies behind the portfolio plan to keep advancing integrated storage and renewable generation projects in central Europe. Jinko ESS says that it will keep working with partners across Europe on storage that improves grid performance and enables new commercial structures.
