Skysense, a Mexican company pioneering energy storage systems and BYD Energy Storage, a leading manufacturer of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), announced a new partnership for the implementation of 300 MWh of BESS in Mexico and Latin America during the remainder of 2025 and 2026.
Implementation of 300 MWh in batteries is compared to the capacity of approximately 5,000 electric vehicle batteries. It is expected to enhance energy resilience by reducing blackouts, lowering diesel dependency, cutting operational costs, and supporting reliable power continuity for energy-intensive sectors such as industries, commercial complexes, airports.
The partnership mainly utilizes BYD’s “MC Cube-T BESS” technology, suitable for commercial, industrial, and large-scale energy storage projects. It supports various applications such as frequency regulation, virtual power plants, backup power, peak shaving, load shifting, and initiatives toward net-zero energy.
Garduño, Founder and CEO of Skysense, said, “At Skysense, our goal is clear: to deliver robust, profitable, and sustainable energy solutions that enhance our clients' competitiveness and position us as a long-term strategic partner in their energy transition. To achieve this, high-level alliances such as this one with BYD are essential to take our value proposition to the next level.”
Oscar Su, Vice President of Sales, BYD North America, added: “BYD is a pioneer in creating zero-emission energy ecosystems, offering accessible solar power, reliable storage solutions, and electrified transportation. We bring nearly 30 years of battery R&D, giving us the world's largest power battery production capacity. Expanding into a high-potential region such as Latin America is a key step for us.”
