UK-based renewable energy infrastructure developer, Elements Green, has completed the acquisition of the 148.8 MW Bolney Green Energy Hub with 4-hour duration in West Sussex, UK, from Envirotech Energy Solutions. The transaction was completed under a Share Purchase Agreement, transferring full ownership of the project to Elements Green and adding to its UK battery energy storage system portfolio.
The Bolney Green Energy Hub received planning approval from Mid-Sussex District Council in September 2024 and has been scheduled for full operation in Q4 2027. Elements Green was advised by Bird & Bird on legal matters and Everoze on technical due diligence. Envirotech Energy Solutions received legal advice from Fladgate and technical and commercial advice from Savills Earth Capital. The completion of the acquisition follows an extended planning and development process, during which the project progressed through local permitting and regulatory review.
Following the transfer of full ownership, Elements Green is advancing the Bolney Green Energy Hub through the stages of detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
The acquisition expands Elements Green’s UK battery storage portfolio and follows the financial close of the 360 MW Staythorpe BESS project in Nottinghamshire. Both projects form part of the company’s broader pipeline of utility-scale energy storage developments across multiple markets.
Rasmus Friis, CEO of Elements Green, said the acquisition brings the 148.8 MW, four-hour Bolney Green Energy Hub into the company’s portfolio and aligns with its broader 13,000 MW global pipeline.
Envirotech Energy Solutions Ltd stated that the transaction was completed after an extended planning process and ahead of NESO modification offers, referencing the project’s development status and the transfer to a UK-based developer.
