Zelestra has agreed to sell its Latin America renewable energy platform to Colombia-based Promigas, marking a strategic shift toward its core markets in Europe and the United States. The platform includes 1.4 GW of contracted solar and storage capacity, with 1.0 GW operating or under construction, and a further 2.1 GW in advanced development. Promigas said the acquisition supports its “Our Energy 2040” strategy and enables expansion across new regional markets.

Zelestra, Europe-based renewable energy developer, has signed an agreement to sell its Latin America platform to Promigas, a Colombia-based multi-energy company involved in natural gas and renewable operations across the region.
The platform includes 1.4 GW of contracted solar and battery energy storage capacity, of which 1.0 GW is operating or under construction, along with 2.1 GW of additional capacity in advanced development. This advanced stage portfolio includes 19 projects across Colombia, Peru, and Chile.
Zelestra is a vertically integrated company involved in the development, commercialization, construction, and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects. Bloomberg New Energy Finance has listed the company among the top sellers of clean energy to corporate customers, and it is backed by EQT, a Swedish investment firm, which manages more than €266 billion in assets.
Leo Moreno, CEO of Zelestra, said, the agreement supports the company’s shift toward a customer-focused, multi-technology strategy centered on Europe and the United States. He noted that Zelestra has operated in Latin America for many years and that the team is expected to continue its work under new ownership.
Juan Manuel Rojas, Promigas President, stated that the acquisition aligns with the company’s “Our Energy 2040” strategy aimed at expanding energy solutions and growing non-regulated activities. He added that the transaction also supports Promigas’ plan to enter additional markets in the Latin America region.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals from competition authorities in Colombia and Peru.
