EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
China-based EcoFlow has launched the Stream 5000 and Stream AC 5000, its latest 5 kWh residential battery models, for pre-order in the UK. According to EcoFlow, the modular units pair with rooftop solar through built-in charge controllers and can be expanded to 90 kWh when combined with the company's earlier Stream battery generation. The UK launch precedes country-specific rollouts across the EU, with product listings already out in Germany.

EcoFlow is a global consumer and residential energy technology company known for its portable power stations and home battery storage systems. The Stream 5000 series marks the company's push into higher-capacity, easy-install home battery solutions for the UK and European markets.
EcoFlow's Stream series has expanded into the 5 kWh segment, with UK pre-orders now open for the Stream 5000 and Stream AC 5000. Both units are designed as plug-and-play systems that can be installed without a full rewiring of the home's electrical system, according to the company.
The Stream 5000 is fitted with four maximum power point trackers and accepts up to 5 kW of solar input across four 1.25 kW channels, with a maximum PV input voltage of 60 V. Its main battery unit charges and discharges at up to 2.5 kW, while the modular system can go up to a charging power of 4 kW and discharging power of 3 kW. The Stream AC 5000 shares most specifications except for the solar inverter, which limits its charging power to 3 kW. It's meant for homes that charge mostly from the grid, or already have their own inverter. According to EcoFlow, both units deliver up to 3 kW of AC output when paired with solar generation or an expansion battery.
EcoFlow has not disclosed the battery cell chemistry for the Stream 5000 series in the materials reviewed. The company states both models are rated for 10,000 charge cycles and carry a 10-year warranty, with an IP65 ingress protection rating, low-temperature charging activation below 10°C, and a maximum operating noise level of 30 dB. EcoFlow also highlighted two pressure relief valves per unit, which it says are designed to manage off-gassing during thermal runaway events.
The Stream 5000 and Stream AC 5000 are compatible with EcoFlow's prior-generation Stream hardware, allowing households to scale total storage capacity up to 90 kWh. The company also introduced a "local" operating mode that keeps the system functional without a cloud connection. EcoFlow's home energy ecosystem integrates solar power, battery storage, EV charging, smart heating, and other smart home devices into a single platform.
At Intersolar 2026, EcoFlow confirmed more European markets will follow the UK launch of the Stream 5000 series. In Germany, the Stream 5000 is listed from EUR 1,299, VAT-free, with registration open ahead of a confirmed sale date. In the UK, early-bird pricing of GBP 1,599 for the Stream 5000 and GBP 1,499 for the Stream AC 5000 is available until October 7, alongside a separate deposit offer to lock in the discount. The company reports more than 6 million users across over 140 countries and regions, backed by over 1,100 patented technologies.
