Solex Energy, an India-based solar module manufacturer and EPC company, is developing capabilities for 10 GWh of battery pack and container assembly. The first 5 GWh phase is targeted for FY29. The company set out the plan at its 12th Annual General Meeting and shared it with NSE and BSE in a press release dated 22 September 2026.

The company counts energy storage among the main pillars of its growth plans. It sees the pairing of renewable generation and storage becoming more important as electricity demand grows across electric mobility, industrial electrification, artificial intelligence, data centres and other energy-intensive sectors.

The BESS line sits inside an investment programme of about INR 4,000 crore between FY27 and FY30, the largest in Solex's history. The roadmap also sets up 2.2 GW of solar cell capacity by FY28, rising to 5.2 GW by early FY29, and the first 5 GWh of BESS capacity by FY29, followed by further expansion. Solex is targeting revenue potential of more than INR 4,500 crore by FY28.

The plan follows a year in which revenue rose 143.9% to INR 16,211 million in FY26. EBITDA stood at INR 1,867 million and profit after tax at INR 983 million. The company also reported order visibility of more than INR 34,000 million.

With cells and storage added to modules, Solex says that it is moving towards an integrated renewable energy platform with more control across the value chain. Its chairman and managing director told shareholders that the aim is a technology-driven and globally competitive energy platform built from India. Solex also plans to set up Solex Europe and Solex USA to build long-term customer partnerships abroad.

Solex Energy is headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, and has made solar products since 1995. It runs a 4 GW photovoltaic module plant at Tadkeshwar, Gujarat, and provides EPC services across utility-scale, commercial, industrial and institutional segments. Its shares are listed on NSE and BSE.
