The US based leading developer and manufacturer of electrical testing equipment, Vacuum Interrupters, has introduced the LRTS10, a battery-powered low-resistance test set designed to make electrical connection testing easier in the field, workshop, and laboratory for medium-voltage vacuum circuit breakers and contactors.
The LRTS10 is a digital micro-ohmmeter that operates on Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM batteries. This gives technicians a practical option when working at sites where access to a power source may be limited. Instead of waiting for the test equipment to recharge, users can replace the battery with a charged pack and continue testing. The unit is compatible with all Milwaukee M18 batteries.
The company supplies the LRTS10 with test leads, a cable bag, a charger, and an M18 XC5.0 battery. According to the company, the supplied battery can support more than 1,100 tests.
The instrument provides six selectable test currents and measures resistance with a resolution of 1.0 µΩ. On the 10 A range, it offers a measurement accuracy of 0.2% + 5.0 µΩ. Technicians can check low-resistance electrical connections and can identify issues during inspection and maintenance.
