Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) marked a record-breaking capacity expansion, solid financial growth and rapid progress in battery energy storage deployment. This shows a strong performance in FY2026. The company shows 1.5 times higher performance than the previous year by adding 5.1 GW of greenfield renewable capacity. This brings its total operational portfolio to 19.3 GW and is considered as largest in India.
Financially, AGEL reported robust growth with energy sales rising 34% year-on-year to 37,567 million units. The revenue from power supply increasing from 22% to ₹11,602 crore. EBITDA increased by 23% to ₹10,865 crore, maintaining strong margin of 91%, while cash profit rose 11% year-on-year to ₹5,399 crore. This performance was supported by strong execution, advanced technologies and high plant efficiency.
A key highlight is the company’s focus increasing on BESS. In FY26, AGEL installed 1,376 MWh of BESS capacity at its Khavda renewable energy park. This park is a largest single-location deployments globally. The company targets more than 10,000 MWh capacity by FY27.
AGEL has added 5,051 MW greenfield capacity in FY26. This is 1.5 times the capacity addition in FY25. 5,051 MW of greenfield additions have been included as 3,412 MW of solar capacity. This solar capacity is partitioned as 2,974 MW in Khavda, Gujarat, 438 MW in Rajasthan. 683 MW wind capacity in Khavda has been added and 956 MW of solar-wind hybrid capacity in Khavda has also been added in the green field capacity. The record capacity addition has also increased Adani Green’s total operational portfolio to approximately 19.3 GW. It reinforces its position as one of the largest renewable energy developers globally.
This announcement focuses on renewable generation. But the scale of deployment is directly accelerating the need for BESS.
